What Are Your Intentions Toward Others?
Posted on August 30, 2013
Benevolence is a fancy word that means something simple: good intentions toward living beings, including oneself.
This goodwill is present in warmth, friendliness, compassion, ordinary decency, fair play, kindness, altruism, generosity, and love. The benevolent heart leans toward others; it is not neutral or indifferent. Benevolence is click this site the opposite of ill will, coldness, prejudice, cruelty, and aggression. We’ve all been benevolent, we all know what it’s like to wish someone well.
Benevolence is widely praised – from parents telling children to share their toys to saints preaching the Golden Rule – because it has so many benefits:
* Benevolence toward oneself is needed to fulfill our three fundamental needs: to avoid harms, approach rewards, and attach to others. When these needs are met, your brain shifts into its Responsive mode, in which the body repairs and refuels itself, you feel peaceful, happy, and loving.
* Benevolence toward others reduces quarrels, builds trust, and is the best-odds strategy to get good treatment in return.
* Benevolence within and between nations promotes the rule of law, educates children, feeds the hungry, supports human rights, offers humanitarian aid, and works for peace. Benevolence toward our planet tries to protect endangered species and reduce global warming.Of course, this is just a partial list of benefits. Bottom-line, benevolence is good for individuals, relationships, nations, and the world as a whole.
The fact that benevolence is often enlightened self-interest makes it no less warm-hearted and virtuous. And at this time in history when individuals feel increasingly stressed and isolated, when relationships often stand on shaky ground, when international conflicts are fueled by dwindling resources and increasingly lethal weapons, and when humanity is dumping over nine billions tons of carbon each year into the atmosphere (like boom beach cheats throwing 5 billion cars a year up into the sky, most of which stay there) – benevolence is not just moral, it’s essential.
But easier said than done.
How can we sustain benevolence in ourselves and in our relationships, nations, and world?
The Practice.
* Know what benevolence feels like in your body, heart, and mind – Bring to mind a sense of warmth and good wishes toward someone. How does this feel? Try on other kinds of benevolence, and toward other beings, to sense what these are like as well.
* Realize that benevolence is natural and normal – In the media, we are so bombarded with words and images of anti-benevolence that you can start to think that ordinary decency and kindness are somehow exotic. But in fact, as we evolved, our ancestors stayed alive and passed on their genes by caring about themselves and others. And given the gratitude and reverence for nature commonly found in hunter-gatherer bands today, they likely also cared about the world upon which they depended.
* Take care of yourself – When your core needs are met – when you’re not stressed by threat, loss, or rejection – the brain defaults to its resting state, its home base. From this home base, most people are fair-minded, empathic, cooperative, compassionate, and kind: in a word, benevolent. While it’s possible to sustain goodwill in a state of fear, frustration, or loneliness, it is sure a lot harder. An undisturbed, healthy brain is a benevolent one.
* Take a stand for benevolence – Establish your intentions formally – perhaps at the start of the day, electric kettle guide or during a contemplative practice, or at a meal – to wish yourself and all other beings well. In challenging situations, take care of your needs while also asking yourself, “How could I be benevolent here? How could I restrain any destructive thoughts, words, or deeds? Can I wish for the welfare of others? Can I express compassion and kindness?”
* Step out of your comfort zone – Not doing anything foolish, consider how you could stretch a bit (or more) in your good intentions toward others. For example, seeing people you don’t know, try wishing them well. Or with someone who’s irritating, try looking past the surface to sense this person’s own stress and worries; without waiving your rights, can you find more patience, can you let go of recrimination or payback? Or could you extend yourself with friends or family, maybe doing more dishes or giving someone a ride? In the larger world, consider volunteering some time or giving more to a charity.
* Last, appreciate some of the benevolence that buoys you along – We’ve all been nurtured and protected by friends and family, humanity altogether, and the biosphere. In some sense, there’s an exuberant benevolence in the physical universe itself; consider that most of the atoms in your body – any that are heavier than helium – were born inside an exploding star. Afloat in these gifts, who could not be benevolent?!

Five Ways to Get Grounded
Posted on August 29, 2013
Aloha!

It’s easy to lose our center and become ungrounded as the day, the week, the month goes on. Here are five tips to regaining control of your well-being:
1. Breathe deeply. As anyone who’s worked with me knows, I begin each session with a deep breath to connect us in our work together. Breathe into your own Spirit. Deeply – all the way down to just past your navel. In Chinese medical theory, pokemon go hack tool online that point is called the, “tan tien.” Aiming your breath to that point will help you get grounded.
2. Roll your shoulders. Many of us in western society tend to carry tension between our shoulder blades. As opposed to our more naturally-oriented ancestors, most of us spend significant time hunched over some sort of technology. It’s also a normal tendency to hunch the shoulders when feeling tense. Lift your shoulders, as though you are shrugging them, and then move them backward in a circular manner, to release the tension. That piano tiles 2 hack android action will at once release tension and create room for your new energy and new insights.
3. Wiggle your toes. Go ahead – do it right now! I promise I can’t see you and you won’t look silly! Seriously, that movement brings your energy down through your body and into the ground. Wiggling your toes helps you to get out of your head, drop the frustration-producing thoughts, and get your Spirit grounded back into your body. It’s also something that you can do almost anywhere without attracting attention that you don’t want…as opposed to marching around ringing bells during a staff meeting. You know what I’m saying here, right?
4. Massage: It’s wonderful when you have a regular massage therapist who knows your history and patterns, who routinely takes care of you. If you don’t, then find one! If you use lotion or some type of moisturizer, simply add more focused awareness to the circular motions you’re making as you apply it to yourself. The increased awareness of your body will help you get more grounded.

These could be thoughts, emotions, conditions – whatever the case, face your life head on, with courage so that you can get grounded and move forward with a new level of comfort.
Blessings on your journey!

What Are Xanthan & Guar Gum & Why Are They Gluten Food Replacements, Considering Their Side Effects.
Posted on August 29, 2013
In fact it is believed that it has been man’s insistence on selecting and growing grain varieties with every increasing volumes of gluten (and binding properties) that may have lead to the increase in celiac disease in the first place, but I digress. But before we discover the value of xanthan and guar gum it is valuable to understand what part of the gluten molecule is actually the problem for celiacs.
Surprisingly, gluten is actually not the real issue for celiac and gluten intolerant people (up to 20% of the population) – it is the 鎲剅olamin’ portion of the molecules in the grains mentioned above. That is, it is “the toxic component of the gluten molecule lies in the prolamin portion. In wheat this portion is called gliadin. It comprises approximately 40 – 50% of the protein. In rye this portion is called secalin. It comprises approximately 30 – 40% of the protein. In barley this portion is called hordein. It comprises approximately 35 – 45% of the protein. In oats this portion is called avenin. It comprises approximately 10 – 15% of the protein. There are prolamins in rice, corn and other foods but these do not contain the toxic tetrapeptide(s) which are reportedly responsible for the villous damage and rash” experienced by celiacs and people with 鎱籰uten’ sensitivities. (Ref 1)
THE DRAWBACKS OF GLUTEN
Upon entering the digestive tract, gluten breaks down into peptide chains in a similar fashion to other protein sources, however the resulting gluten-related peptide chain length is considerably longer than for other proteins. These longer peptides are part of the reason that immune response triggers occur and cause celiac disease. However celiac are not the only people who chose to avoid gluten. Some of the disease that also benefit from a gluten free diet are: irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, dermatitis herpetiformis (autism) and those with ulcerative colitis.
For people who are new to a gluten free diet it is worth noting that there are an increasing number of 鎱糴alth food’ products on our supermarket shelves listed as wheat free, but still containing gluten – read your ingredients carefully!
There are many 鎲俛tural’ products used as jellying agents in foods. Some of these can replace the cooking properties of 鎱籰uten’ in some foods however the main focus of this article is on those products that replace the function of gluten in flours. The two main products discussed at the end of this section are xanthan gum and guar gum.
Gelling agent descriptions (from wikipedia)
The following substances are only a few of those with gelling properties that used in the food industry.
Pectin: is found in apples, quince, plums, gooseberries, oranges and other citrus fruits. The main use for pectin is as a gelling agent, thickening agent and stabilizer in food. The standard application is giving the jelly-like consistency to jams or marmalades. People with fructose intolerance and fructose mal-absorption however avoid pectin like a celiac avoids gluten!
Alginate is a viscous gum that is abundant in the cell walls of brown algae. It ranges from white to yellowish-brown, and takes filamentous, granular and powdered forms. Alginate absorbs water quickly, which makes it useful as an additive in dehydrated products such as slimming aids, and in the manufacture of paper and textiles. It is also used for waterproofing and fireproofing fabrics, as a gelling agent, for thickening drinks, ice cream and cosmetics, and as a detoxifier that can absorb poisonous metals from the blood.
Carrageenans or carrageenins are a family of linear sulphated polysaccharides extracted from red seaweeds. The name is derived from a type of seaweed that is abundant along the Irish coastline. Gelatinous extracts of the Chondrus crispus seaweed have been used as food additives for hundreds growtopia hack of years. Some of the many uses of carageenins are:
?Desserts, ice cream, milk shakes, sweetened condensed milks,
?sauces: gel to click this site increase viscosity
?Beer: clarifier to remove haze-causing proteins
?P閳氶枱 and processed meat: Substitute fat to increase water retention and increase volume
?Toothpaste: stabilizer to prevent constituents separating
?Fire fighting foam: thickener to cause foam to become sticky
?Shampoo and cosmetic creams: thickener
?Air freshener gels
?Shoe polish: gel to increase viscosity
Agar or agar agar is a gelatinous substance derived from seaweed. Historically and in a modern context, it is chiefly used as an ingredient in desserts throughout Japan. White and semi-translucent, it is sold in packages as washed and dried strips or in powdered form. It can be used to make jellies, puddings and custards.
WHAT ARE THE GLUTEN REPLACEMENT OPTIONS?
While the above products have many jelling uses, they don’t have the combined properties of: texture, taste, binding, stabilizing and rising properties required to act as a standard flour replacement. Hence the use of xanthan and guar gum.
XANTHAN GUM
Xanthan gum is used as a substitute for wheat gluten in gluten-free breads, pastas and other flour-based food products. Xanthan gum comes from a strain of bacteria (Xanthomonas campestris) that is used during the fermentation process. This is the same bacteria that is the cause of black rot on broccoli and cauliflower. It is the slimy substance formed by the bacteria during the fermentation process that acts as a natural stabilizer or thickener and gluten replacement.
Xanthan it is a long chain of three different forms of sugar. What’s important to know is that all three of these natural sugars are present in corn sugar, a derivative of the more familiar corn syrup. The Xanthomonas campestris bacteria literally eat a supply of this corn sugar under controlled conditions, and the digestion process converts the individual sugars into a single substance with properties similar to cornstarch. Xanthan gum is used in dairy products and salad dressings as a thickening agent and stabilizer. Xanthan gum prevents ice crystals from forming in ice creams, and also provides a ‘fat feel’ in low or no-fat dairy products.” Ref 2
Surprisingly Xanthan is also used as a stabilization and binding component in many cosmetic products. The value of xanthan gum its binding property is highly concentrated, meaning that only a small amount needs to be used in any application, thus keeping the costs down. cosmetic manufacturers use very small amounts to cream-based products to stop individual ingredients from separating.
Even more remarkable (the next time you eat xanthan gum) is knowing it is used in the oil industry. Natural thickeners like guar gum or xanthan gum are often blended with water to increase waters viscosity, or thickness for lubrication purposes.
Celiacs should be aware that unlike the Botox causing bacteria (Clostridium botulinum) the bacteria used to create xanthan is typically not considered harmful to human skin or digestive systems, though some individuals may find they are allergic to it. The difference between Xanthan and Guar gum (discussed below) is that some people avoid Xanthan due to its derivation from corn, soy or www.dominationshackcheatsz.xyz/ other plant products.
GUAR GUM
Often where you find xanthan gum you will find guar gum being used. The guar plant, also known as a cluster plant, grows primarily in Pakistan and the northern regions of India. Guar gum is a natural food thickener, similar to locust bean gum, tapioca flour or cornstarch. The popularity of guar gum is similar to the reason that xanthan is often used: it is highly concentrated regarding its gel-like properties thus reducing the amount and cost required in breads, puddings and ice creams etc.
“Guar gum is not just a thickening agent, but a binder and plasticizer as well. When untreated ice cream melts and refreezes, grainy ice crystals often form. Guar gum has the natural ability to bind with water molecules, preventing them from forming the unwanted crystals. Processed foods with creamy textures are primarily held together with binders such as guar gum.” (ref 3)
This high gelling property has also seen guar gum used in non-prescription diet pills as it can create the sense of 鎱簎llness’. However the use of guar gum as an ingredient in non-prescription diet aids was officially banned in the early 1990s by the FDA (in America). It was found that the mass of swollen guar gum had the potential to cause harmful intestinal and duodenal blockages.
The typical amount of guar gum ingested in regular foods is not considered harmful although another unwanted side effect of guar gum is that when used in excess it can have a strong laxative effect. This is why some people who are celiac and still suffer from very sensitive bowels or even IBS need to be aware of this potential problem.
HOW Xanthan and Guar gum are used
“Xanthan gum (E415) is a stabilizer, thickener, and emulsifier used with water, and often blended with guar gum (E412). When it gets wet, it turns rubbery so when added to flour it works in a very similar way to gluten i.e. it traps the gas from the yeast thus causing the dough to rise. When added to gluten free wheat flour (about a heaped teaspoon to 1lb. flour), the flour starts to perform in a similar way to a strong white flour.” (ref 4)
Xanthan gum and guar gum are often already included in gluten free flour replacements however some people prefer to make up their own blends. Because some celiacs wish to reduce their intake of corn and others are concerned about guar gums potential laxative effects they are often combined to reduce the reliance on either specific gum. That said, you will find many forum articles suggest that Xanthan gum and guar gum are the absolutely essential ingredients (gluten replacement) for gluten free baking.
If you are after the holy grail of gluten free flour recipes to replace white wheat flour in baked goods this is it: 鎱ndy Wark’s gluten-free flour mix recipe’ was originally published in the book 鎱檌ving Healthy with Celiac Disease’ (now out of print). It calls for the following mix:
2-1/4 cup brown rice flour
3/4 cup sweet rice flour
2/3 cup tapioca starch flour
1/4 cup potato starch flour
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 tsp xanthan or guar gum
“Use one cup of this flour for one cup of regular flour in recipes. To make your baked goods healthier and less dependent on refined carbohydrates, use this gluten-free flour for half the flour in a recipe, and use teff, quinoa, amaranth, or buckwheat flour for the other half of the flour in a recipe.” (ref 4)
When using this mix as a flour substitute in baked goods, xanthan gum must be added to the batter. Use it in the following proportions:
bread: add 3/4 tsp xanthan gum per cup of flour mix
cake: add 1/4 tsp xanthan gum per cup of flour mix
cookies: no additional xanthan gum needed, if flour mix contains it already.
What substitutes for Xanthan?
People with corn / soy allergies sometimes try:
agar agar, and caragenen as discussed above.
milled flax seed with coconut for its binding properties.
glucomannan flour – yam based.
unflavoured Gelatine – an animal based product
methyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose are used to create thermoreversible gels – that means they gel when heated.
CONCLUSION
There are many jelling agents derived from natural resources. While many have 鎱絥teresting’ origins it appears that xanthan and guar gum still remain the most popular gluten substitute ingredients in flours. So the next time you eat either additive, you will now be aware of their great versatility.

WomanSavers.com Founder Suggests Emotional Infidelity May Have Played a Part in the Destruction of Christie Brinkley’s and Madon
Posted on August 28, 2013
Christie Brinkley appears to be shocked and distraught over her soon-to-be ex-husband Peter Cook’s emotional infidelity consisting of an expensive and hidden online porn habit, combined with his physical infidelity with an 18-year-old co-worker.
Madonna is accused of having an affair of the heart with baseball star Alex Rodriquez during Rodriguez’s divorce.
“Emotional infidelity can be just as destructive as physical infidelity,” says Stephany Alexander, an infidelity expert who has been quoted by countless major media outlets and is the founder of WomanSavers.com, a free infidelity date screening service for women.
“There is no doubt that emotional infidelity can be just as painful as being cheated on physically,” says Alexander. “Both emotional infidelity and physical infidelity are a painful breach of trust and a blow to one’s ego.”
Emotional Infidelity can Happen in Many Forms
Alexander, author of Sex, Lies and the Internet – An Online Dating Survival Guide, explains the definition of emotional infidelity and some of the different ways emotional infidelity can happen.
Alexander says, “emotional infidelity is the new fad on the internet and is appropriately titled ‘cyber cheating.’” Alexander adds, “many homes have one to two computers making it convenient to carry on an emotional affair without the partner ever knowing. A person can learn a lot about an internet stranger by communicating through a few emails, texts or chats, all without the embarrassment of meeting in person.” Christie Brinkley’s husband is accused of frequenting the website Adult Friend Finder and offering strangers money in exchange for intimate photos.
“The sharing of personal information with strangers online is commonplace on the internet and personal details are shared on chat boards, personal websites, blogs, message boards and porn sites,” says Alexander. “Emotional infidelity is an infidelity that occurs through emotions, feelings or thoughts, rather than physical in nature and with the increase in technology through the internet and cell phones, the traditional term of infidelity has become broader to include thoughts and/or feelings.” Alexander states, “emotional infidelity can include anything from texting someone intimately via cell phone to emailing intimate correspondence, exchanging personal photos or viewing pornography.”
According to an emotional infidelity poll of over 12,784 women conducted by WomanSavers.com 92% (11,824) of women believe that online affairs constitute infidelity, whereas a mere 8% (960) do not.
Alexander explains that the main difference between physical infidelity and emotional infidelity is physical contact. “Physical infidelity involves people meeting directly and then engaging in physical intimacy,” says Alexander. “Emotional infidelity can occur in distant locations with absolutely no physical contact occurring. With emotional infidelity, there may be a meeting, but it can occur on a cell phone or a computer.”
In another WomanSaver’s emotional infidelity poll of 7,617 women, 93% (7,111) felt that emotional affairs lead to physical affairs and a mere 7% (506) disagreed.
Alexander has found that some people who emotionally cheat don’t consider the act to be a true form of infidelity because there is no physical contact as in the case of Madonna and Rodriguez, whereas others see no difference between physical and emotional infidelity because emotional infidelity has the same basic behavioral actions as traditional infidelity.
Madonna is accused of emotional infidelity with Rodriguez by wooing him through Kabbalah. However, Madonna claims she is not romantically involved with him in any way. Alexanders explains that “when a person cheats, they flirt and seduce another regardless of whether they are in physical contact or not. The problem results when the partner pays emotional or physical attention to someone other than their mate and this effects the relationship in a negative manner.”
“An emotional affair can begin quite innocently and as time passes the information two people exchange becomes more intimate,” says Alexander. “As the trust factor increases, so does the curiosity, which many times ends up in a physical meeting.”
Alexander explains, “when a person is not getting their emotional needs met in a relationship, they seek it from someone who will give it to them.” She adds, “all people want to be loved, acknowledged, validated, desired and needed and if those needs aren’t getting met through their partner, they go find someone who does meet their needs.”
With the internet, there are plenty of strangers online who can fulfill those needs, especially if deceit is involved. Alexander says, “many people lie to the online strangers in order to get the attention they think they deserve. The person may tell the stranger how mean and distant their partner is so the stranger feels pity for them.” She continues, “many married people tell online strangers they are separated or divorcing when this is far from the truth.”
With the ease of meeting new people through the internet and through various communication devices, the number of people engaged in emotional infidelity and cyber cheating will increase. However, it is important for the parties engaging in the communications to consider the consequences and steam wallet hack online pain these acts may have on their partner.
Alexander has counseled thousands of infidelity victims and says “a good way to determine what is and what is not acceptable is to ask yourself if you would be okay with your partner engaging in the same type of behavior with another. If the answer is no, then you should definitely back off because emotional infidelity can hurt just as deeply as physical unfaithfulness.”
Alexander gives the top 10 signs of emotional infidelity. If any of these ring a bell in regards to your relationship, perhaps you are not as close to your partner as you should be.
1. You have little or no sex. Partner is always too busy or tired.
2. You have petty arguments.
3. You feel like you do not have anything in common any more.
4. One of you is no longer attracted to the other.
5. Partner spends unusually long periods of time on cell phone or computer.
6. Partner suddenly becomes hypercritical about your appearance.

8. Check our website Partner loses interest in relationship or family activities.
9. Partner stays on computer very late at night after you have retired.
10. Partner secures their computer in a locked area or with passwords you do not have access to.
Alexander gives the following advice for reopening communication channels. “Talk to your partner and tell them what you need and want. Do not be afraid to express your true feelings, including your insecurities and concerns.” Alexander says, “a loving mate will be understanding of line rangers hacked version your feelings and work through it with you.” She advises to “tell your partner that you miss them and you need their devotion and attention.”
Free Advice and Support for Victims of Emotional Infidelity
Alexander says there are many great sources to get help and advice if dealing with emotional infidelity. “WomanSavers.com is home to the most popular infidelity advice forum on the internet and you can get free advice from women who have experienced similar situations at

Women who led the way towards Change – Sarah Grimke’s Adulthood
Posted on August 25, 2013
Taken from the book: THE GRIMK?SISTERS ?SARAH AND ANGELINA GRIMK? THE FIRST AMERICAN WOMEN ADVOCATES OF ABOLITION AND WOMAN’S RIGHTS; By CATHERINE H. BIRNEY, 1885 “The glory of all glories is the glory of self- sacrifice.”
In 1818 at the age of twenty-six and with the exception of the period devoted to her father, Sarah had only performed home duties, private charities and visits to the sick. But all these were performed with one specific motive and with the same end in view to find good in the eyes of God and lessen her guilt for her past. Interest in her family, friends, home and community service was performed only if they furthered this objective.
She was too busy watching and crying over her own short-comings to identify her own purpose or to concern herself about her families grief. Her diary is filled with the reiteration of her fears, her sorrows, and her prayers. Many years afterwards she thus referred to this condition of her mind:?br />
“I cannot without shuddering look back to that period. How dreadful did the state of my mind become! Nothing interested me; I fulfilled my duties without any feeling of satisfaction, in gloomy silence. My lips moved in prayer, my feet carried me to the holy sanctuary, but my heart was estranged from piety. I felt as if my doom was irrevocably fixed, and I was destined to that fire which is never quenched. I have never experienced any feeling so terrific as the despair of salvation. My soul still remembers the wormwood and the gall, still remembers how awful the conviction that every door of hope was closed, and that I was given over unto death.”
When she was 28 years old, her guilt from her lifestyle and struggle with finding salvation with God affected her health. Her mother became concerned, and in the autumn of 1820 sent Sarah to North Carolina to live with an aunt and where several relatives owned plantations on the Cape Fear River.
In the village near where this aunt lived there was no place of worship except the Methodist meeting-house which Sarah attended. By listening to the earnest and alarming preaching, and associating with some of the most spiritual-minded of the members, she began to come out of her apathetic state. She joined in their services and even offered up prayer with them.
At one session she delivered a public testimony to the truths of the gospel. She began to examine their principles and doctrines, but found them as faulty as all the rest she had from time to time investigated. She therefore soon decided not to become one of them.
From her earliest serious impressions, she had been dissatisfied with Episcopacy, feeling its forms lifeless; but now, after having carefully considered the various other sects, and finding error in all, she concluded to remain in the church of her family.
Having made up her mind that the Society of Friends [Quakers] was wrong, she had steadily refused, during her stay in Philadelphia, to attend their meetings or read any of their writings. Nevertheless many things about them, scarcely noticed this website at the time,姊﹉eir quiet dress, orderly manner of life and gentle tones of voice, together with their many acts of kindness to her and her father,姊抋me back diep io cheats hack to her after she had left them, and especially impressed her as contrasting so strongly with the slack habits and irregular discipline which made her own home so unhappy.
After her father’s death, on her trip from Philadelphia to Charleston, was a party of Friends. During the seven days which it took to make the voyage, a friendship formed between them and Sarah which influenced her whole future life. From one of the Friends she accepted a copy of Woolman’s works,姊晇idence that there must have been religious discussions between them. Sarah’s brother Thomas gave her, soon after her return from North Carolina, a volume of Quaker writings he had picked up at some sale. He placed it in her hand, saying, “Thee had better turn Quaker, Sally; thy long face would suit well their sober dress.”
She naturally had a cheerful disposition; but her false views of religion led her to believe that “by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better,” and she cried and prayed for forgiveness, over frequent occasional irresistible fun.
Accepting the book from her brother, she read it, and, needing some explanation of portions of it, wrote to one of the Friends in Philadelphia whose acquaintance she had made on the vessel. A correspondence ensued, which resulted after some months in her entire conversion to Quakerism.
Now, under the influence of her new belief, she found her call to the ministry. She was very apprehensive about this solemn work, and she prayed the Lord to spare her. But the more she prayed, the stronger and clearer the intimations became, until she felt that no loop-hole of escape was left her from obedience to her Master’s will. From the publicity the work involved, she intuitively shrank. Her natural sensitiveness and all the prejudices of her life rebelled against it, and she could not look forward to it without fear and trembling. She dreaded having to rise and speak at meetings, even before two or three attendees.
One morning it became distinctly evident to her that some words of admonition were required of her; Check our website but so appalling did the act appear to her that she trembled, hesitated, resisted, and was silent.
Sorrow and remorse at once filled her soul; and, feeling that she had sinned against the Holy Ghost, she thought that God would never forgive her. She believed that no sacrifice she could ever offer could atone for this first act of disobedience. Apprehensions continuously followed her denying her any religious peace, and bringing her such misery that, she says, it almost destroyed her soul.
Her Quaker friend’s frequent letters were firm, and to the point of implicit obedience to the movements of the Spirit. Sarah found herself in a straight and narrow path, from which she was not allowed to deviate. In late 1821 she returned back to Philadelphia to stay with her friend Israel Morris for at least five years before returning back to Charleston.

Be Ready for the Millennials or Be Ready to Find a New Line of Work

“Shoot low boys, they’re ridin’ Shetlands.” — Lewis Grizzard
Interesting quote, huh? And kind of funny, too, when you picture a bunch of big, burly cowboys coming over the hill bumbling along on little horses.
Of course, the message is pretty simple: sometimes you have to adjust your strategy to win. And one group you’ll need to adjust for is coming over the proverbial hill: millennials — those born between 1981 and 1997. And yes, they’re riding Shetlands. Put more simply: they’re different. And if you understand those differences — and adjust your aim — you and your bottom line will be just fine.
Why adjust? For one, millennials now outnumber the baby boomer generation. That makes them the single largest generation — 75.4 million strong.
But even more important than their numbers is what they’re preparing for: buying homes. According to Trulia’s 2017 housing report, 83% of millennials say they plan on buying and 72% are looking to buy asphalt 8 airborne cheats in 2018.
Another report from Nielsen and the Demand Institute says Millennials will spend around $2 trillion on home purchases in the next five years. Today, there are only about 13 million millennial households in the U.S., but by 2018, that number will rise to 22 million.
Plus, a report from Mizuho Securities says first on their wish lists: a house first, then a car, and then retirement.
And Better Homes & Gardens’ annual survey of trends in U.S. homeownership found that millennials are paving their own paths in homeownership based on their budgets, timeline and needs. They’re replacing big-budget homes and expensive renovations with patience, frugalness and practicality.
Better Homes & Garden report also share this site found:
1. 64 percent say the ideal sized home is about 2,100 square feet
2. The same percentage want renovated kitchens
3. 60 percent want renovated bathrooms
4. 59 percent want deck or patio space
5. 25 percent call a professional for renovation help – the rest are do-it-yourselfers.
So my suggestion is start now to learn all you can about millennials, particularly how to work with them. Here are my tips:
1. Upgrade your digital world. Refresh your website with the latest options and extraordinarily helpful information. Drop the hard sell and focus on what will help visitors with their real estate needs. Also adopt an aggressive social media presence. Research shows well over 80 percent of millennials use Facebook and the vast majority also has accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. And make sure everything you do digitally works on mobile devices. Millennials live on them. As for content, think about ways to market yourself via video.
2. Be easy to find. One word: search. Younger buyers start by searching share this site the internet. Money you put into search engine optimization will likely be worth it. Also, register on local business directories and review sites.
3. Location, location, location … must be about neighborhoods. Millennials like lively communities near local businesses, restaurants and public transportation. Emphasize hotspots nearby and know details of neighborhoods.
4. Think less about selling and more about educating. Few people like to be sold to and this is particularly true of millennials. Instead, they want information – plenty of useful, helpful information. Remember, they grew up with information at their fingertips. They know its value and they’ll respect those who offer it freely. So forget the hard sell and spend more time listening and then educating.
Because I began with a quote, I’ll end with one, from Confucius: “Those who do not think and plan long ahead will find trouble right at their door.”

Women, Men And Sacredness

Oppression of women: When do we as men realize, of all the psycho spiritual sickness, greed, wars, abuses and neglects; this is the oldest and most heinous behavior happening on the planet? I say that because, the oppression of women leads to the abuse of children and the neglect of our own intelligent social maturity. The proof lies in the obvious broken homes, absolute dysfunctional behaviors, chaotic and unsustainable economics, explosive prison populations, addictions and more.
It has been proven that when women are empowered with small business loans, proper health care, education, and a healthy dose of respect; even in the most remote and lesser industrialized, economically challenged countries, the entire community improves. Meaning, the base line of their economy, well-being, education and healthy domestic behavior rises.
We dumb ourselves down in order to oppress women. One must have to be the most self centered un-evolved, knuckle dragging, sex starved, fear based, caveman (and that is probably harsh on cavemen) to think that control and abuse of women is going to help human beings, or any society or culture move forward in peace, health and happiness. Even a cursory view of history shows us that matriarchal social structures and true, honest, complimentary attitudes between men and women leads to an overall healthier society. While the opposite is obvious that a society led by men who willingly, by religious design and or male-centric competitive design, oppress and abuse women, children and other men. Every time has led humans into incoherent thinking, xenophobia, narcissism, megalomania, dis-compassionate and convoluted law making, addictions, abuse of power and yes genocide.
Healthy, gender complimentary societies didn’t evolve prisons, mental hospitals, addictions or domestic dysfunction. Furthermore the domestic violence that did/does occur was/is short lived and dealt with using methods that today are so foreign in modern law makers they have not, cannot or will not comprehend or even consider. In today’s world, it is nearly impossible for women’s voices to be heard, unless they speak and adhere to male contrivances of society and culture. To neglect, exclude, abuse or otherwise oppress our other half (literally) of Check our website the population is not evolved, not sincerely aligned with spiritual teachings, and borders on stupidity. Those gifts, insight, strength, creativity and more, that women possess are not just wasted, the lack of those gifts hinders all people and societies on an exponential level.
It is mind boggling that law is written in black and white terms, (often inspired and based on religion) and yet becomes a vague and ambiguous plea bargaining word smith, spin doctoring game, in which; if you pay enough (be it money, information or power) you can slide out of criminal allegations, as if they are trivial at best and a lie or illusion at worst. When in fact, we have thousands of generations of men and women with intelligence, experience and global wisdom to call on. This accumulation of experience and wisdom when properly employed could allow us to create laws, education, and consequences that are this website designed to inspire us to behave better as human beings, allowing us to truly get to the root of our societal aches and pains.
Yet the spin doctors do it again. Admittedly this not the seriously violent oppression of women in some countries, but it lends permission to the very “values” of inequality, injustice and oppression of women, the “free world” leadership says we are fighting against. At the time of this writing here is what is in store for us. This is reprinted directly from a website link.
Top 10 Shocking Attacks from the GOP’s War on Women
1) Republicans not only want to reduce women’s access to abortion care, they’re actually trying to redefine rape. After a major backlash, they promised to stop. But they haven’t yet. Shocker.
2) A state legislator in steam wallet hack online Georgia wants to change the legal term for victims of rape, stalking, and domestic violence to “accuser.” But victims of other less gendered crimes, like burglary, would remain “victims.”
3) In South Dakota, Republicans proposed a bill that could make it legal to murder a doctor who provides abortion care. (Yep, for real.)
4) Republicans want to cut nearly a billion dollars of food and other aid to low-income pregnant women, mothers, babies, and kids.
5) In Congress, Republicans have a bill that would let hospitals allow a woman to die rather than perform an abortion necessary to save her life.
6) Maryland Republicans ended all county money for a low-income kids’ preschool program. Why? No need, they said. Women should really be home with the kids, not out working.
7) And at the federal level, Republicans want to cut that same program, Head Start, by $1 billion. That means over 200,000 kids could lose their spots in preschool.
Two-thirds of the elderly poor are women, and Republicans are taking aim at them too. A spending bill would cut funding for employment services, meals, and housing for senior citizens.
9) Congress just voted for a Republican amendment to cut all federal funding from Planned Parenthood health centers, one of the most trusted providers of basic health care and family planning in our country.
10) And if that wasn’t enough, Republicans are pushing to eliminate all funds for the only federal family planning program. (But Republican Dan Burton has a bill to provide contraception for wild horses. You can’t make this stuff up).
So, how to move forward; we need to be activists. There are many ways to be an activist. And for men I think the simplest and most direct way is to work on you. Read books of authentic history which reveal how women have been ignored or suppressed and how women have contributed throughout our human becoming-ness. Engage in personal development and emotional inquiry that will help you to become a more intelligent, inclusive man. We need to be vigilant in regards to the law makers, and the apparent pressure to “live and behave” in certain value systems.
I like to think the value system is pretty simple; men, women, children want to live in health, happiness, comfort and celebration. All people want this. It is, simply put, the life on earth value system.
We are all indigenous to mother earth.
